Why do an internship abroad?
Globalization is one of the key professional concepts. There is a great need for people-to-people, cross-cultural understanding. In today's global market, employers are not just looking for applicants with professional experience; they are looking for applicants with professional experience in an international setting.

What type of person succeeds best in an internship?
The most important attributes are motivation, cooperation, open mindedness, flexibility and a willingness to become involved.


Must I be majoring in the same field as the internship I apply for?
Not necessarily. There are some internships where enthusiasm and willingness to learn overcome any lack of background knowledge.


When should I apply at the latest?
In order to guarantee a smooth processing of applications, we recommend you to apply as early as possible, about 2 to 3 months in advance. However, applications can be submitted as late as one month before the intended starting date.


What happens in case I have to cancel?
That depends on when we receive your official cancellation. Please see General Terms and Conditions for more information.


Can I stay longer than 6 months?
Yes, you can. We can help you with the paperwork for the extension of your visa.


How well must I speak/read Mandarin or Cantonese to do an internship in China?
It depends on the internship, but in most of the cases people will speak English in the company. Otherwise, a beginner’s level of Mandarin or Cantonese should be enough.


What are the basic qualifications for applying?
Anybody who is interested in an internship program may apply.


How much work will the internship program involve?
Usually 40 hours per week is the requirement. However, hours vary from organization to organization.


Is there any chance of being paid for the internship work?
It depends on the sector. There are sectors where you do not receive any pay. However, paid internships can provide you between 2000 RMB and 4000 RMB (per month?).


When will I find out where I will be working?
Placing a student will take a maximum of 1 month after the application is submitted.


Who makes the travel arrangements?
Each student is responsible for making his or her own travel arrangements from his country.


Who provides the visa?
Each student's case is different so we will decide which visa is the most appropriate case by case. For more detailed information, please go to our visa section.


How do I pay?
Kampus prefers bank transfer as way of payment. The service costs for bank transfer are to be carried out by the student.


What are exchange rates between the Euro and USD and Chinese currency?
Approximate exchange rates:
- 1 USD = 7 RMB
- 1 EUR = 10 RMB

How much money do I need for life in China?
Generally, China is relatively cheap compared to Europe or North America. How much money you spend depends on your lifestyle. However, a rate between 10 and 15 Euro/day (between 15 and 20 USD) should be a realistic amount, with additional costs for any traveling, going out, or sightseeing that you might want to do.


What about the social life?
You will have plenty of opportunities through a network of social activities and leisure options provided by KPS to make friends and enjoy yourself.
